For families who have received support from our lactation and infant feeding program in the past, we are delighted to have you return. It is one of our greatest joys to see your babies grow up and your families expand.
However, due to the demand for our services and the constantly changing landscape of primary care, we require all dyads to be referred, even if one person was a previous patient. To make this process smoother, here are a few answers to commonly asked questions:
Once your new baby is born, even if no issues have developed, have a doctor, nurse practitioner, midwife, audiologist, chiropractor, podiatrist, dentist, optometrist, or physical therapist send a referral as soon as possible. See “Visit Us” for full instructions on this process.
After the referral is sent, if you continue on your feeding journey with no concerns, there is no need to book an appointment, or you can simply cancel the appointment you do have. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
No family is “wasting our time.” If you think you have a challenge, you likely do, and families who needed us once before often need us again. The sooner we see you, the more helpful we can be.
Wait times are the same for all patients referred to the program and our program is unable to give previous patients quicker access. However, having a referral sent as early as possible allows you to access the cancellation list and book your first visit sooner.
