MD CCFP IBCLC
She/Her
Dr. Schuman's roots run deep in Edmonton, where she was born and raised. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the University of Alberta but then pivoted from business clients to busy clinics to pursue her true passion in Primary Care Medicine. She completed Medical School and a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Schuman's interest in infant lactation began with her own breastfeeding challenges with her firstborn child. After quickly realizing that feeding was not going as planned, she and her son became patients at Willow's Infant Feeding and Lactation Clinic, receiving the compassionate care and advice needed to turn their feeding journey around successfully.
This personal experience sparked her dedication to helping babies thrive and to helping parents find confidence and fulfillment in these sleepless nights. Dr. Schuman trained to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and performed the Frenectomy procedure under the supportive mentorship of Dr. MacGregor at Willow Family Medicine.
When she is not at Willow, Dr. Schuman enjoys spending time at the park with her husband and two sons, amateur gardening in her backyard, and enthusiastic cooking.
